Becky Byland

 My fitness journey began during the New Years challenge at MPR in 2016 when my daughter, who is a personal trainer, encouraged me to get fit and healthy.  I committed and went “all in” for myself and my family.  

 

I was a teacher in Maryville for 30 years and retired in 2020.  I was an MPR fitness class “junkie” and when needed, I volunteered to help as an instructor.  I try to design unique circuit workouts utilizing a variety of fitness equipment.  

 

When I’m not at MPR, I love to spend time with my husband, three Maryville High graduates, and four grandchildren.

Jacque Oglesby

I'm married and have 3 children that are all Maryville High graduates. You can usually find me in a gym, at a football field, golf course or tennis courts - my kids keep me busy! I have taught aerobics since 2003. I am certified in Group Exercise, Brain Gym & Bal-A-Vis-X!

Margaret Pierson

I have earned AFFA Practical Yoga Instructor Training and 500 Level YogaFit certifications, Energy Medicine Yoga certificate, Warrior Trauma Sensitive certificate, and I am a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance.  Yoga practice is perfect for any age or flexibility level.  It is a great way to ease stress, improve posture, increase flexibility & strength, and stimulate the mind, body and spirit.  I have been teaching at the Maryville Community Center for 7 years. My husband and I enjoy spending time with our 4 children and 7 grandchildren.  I enjoy being outside, vegetable gardening, cooking, and being active.

Nikki Hackett

I have four kids, and my time revolves around them, my husband, two dogs and a cat. I started working out again about two years ago after taking several years off. I have been certified in Insanity and TurboKick.

Stacy Bundridge

I enjoy spending time with family, cooking, travel, and outside activities. I started teaching in 2006. I am a NETA certified personal trainer & have completed certifications through the years such as Pilates, Group Exercise, Senior Exercise, Brain Gym.

Erika Jeter

I love spending time with family (husband, Curt and son, Lincoln), Running, Piano, Gardening, Cooking and Baking, and Being Outdoors. I have taught classes since 2008 and also specialize in Brain Gym and Bal-A-Vis-X.

I received my NETA personal training certification in 2019 and have enjoyed teaching spinning classes since 2016. Recently, I have added Water Aerobics to the list of classes I teach and love working out in the water! My husband Adam and I are proud Maryville residents and love spending time with our children, Henry and Lucy. Some of my other hobbies include: reading, singing, cooking and spending time with friends and family.

Karen Pfost

My free time activities include spending time with family, travel, reading, crafting and doing things with friends. I have taught Pilates since 2009. My Certifications have included Pilates, Group Exercise, Bender Ball, Senior Fitness Specialty, Medicine Ball, Brain Gym and CPR.

Cindy Lemar

I received both under graduate and graduate degrees from NWMSU and taught at Nodaway-Holt for 31 years before retiring in 2016.  I joined the New Year’s Challenge in January 2017 and consider myself a member of the huge family at the Rec.  Due to some arm twisting by Jacque Oglesby and Stacy Bundridge, I began subbing in 2018.  I currently sub toning and sculpting and Senior Circuit classes.  My husband, Scott, and I live south of Graham and farm there. We have three children, one grandchild (another one due in the fall), and love to camp, boat, and travel.

Special Education Teacher, and I love spending time with my family, being outdoors and active with my boyfriend and 2 dogs. I also enjoy cooking and baking, working out, and traveling if we get a chance. I have worked in a gym since high school, which is where I found my passion for working out. I was a student employee and later a Graduate Assistant at the Foster Fitness Center at Northwest, where I taught Total Body Toning and a Core and More class. I hope you will come and give my class a try!

I have 2 children and have been married over 20 years.  My husband and I both played basketball in college.  I have taught Spinning since 2009.  We are big NDSU Bison Football fans and travel to Fargo ND a lot since my son plays football there.  We enjoy traveling, watching the KC Chiefs, and keeping up with our kids.  Oh and we have a dog named Chief!

Wendy Deering-Poynter

I am one of the yoga instructors who enjoys the benefits for body, mind and spirit, and will occasionally lead Pilates and senior aerobics. Some of my favorite things are:  I love chocolate, sunshine and dancing in the kitchen. I married with two kids and a dog.
