Meet the Trainers Joe Handlos I am a retired educator who has worked with clients for the past 9 years. I have completed re-certification courses in corrective exercise, senior fitness, nutrition, and strength & conditioning. My fitness journey began in high school when I competed in sports and continued I college when I earned a degree in PE and competed in powerlifting. As an educator, coach, & administrator, I’ve learned how challenging it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle in today’s world. In retirement, I chose to become a personal trainer so I can instruct other (and myself) on how to exercise in a safe progression toward their wellness goals and enable them to have the best quality of life possible. I will work with anyone, but have a preference toward working with seniors, beginners, or those coming off an injury wanting to pursue a more active lifestyle. Certification: ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) Text preferred Cell: 785.210.7423 Email: josephhandlos4@gmail.com Brady Farnan Certification: NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Hello, my name is Brady Farnan. I am a recent graduate at NWMSU and found my passion for exercise during my freshman year of college. Being a three sport athlete throughout high school gave me a lot of previous experience in the weight room, and in college I decided to start taking my fitness more seriously. In doing this I was able to regain confidence and improve each day. I just recently decided to get certified by NASM and become a personal trainer. I am passionate about being a personal trainer because I want to help people reach their goals and boost their physical and mental well being. I am excited to build new relationships through this new adventure and help people crush their goals! I can work with anyone and I specifically like to work with beginners/moderate lifters and learn their needs, what they want to get out of exercise, and what keeps them motivated. Class Request Form Meet the Fitness Instructors Becky Byland I am a passionate and results‑driven fitness instructor dedicated to empowering individuals of all levels to move better, feel stronger and live a bit healthier. After discovering the transformative power of movement in my own life during a New Year’s challenge at MCC in 2016, I began teaching exercise classes, which led to earning my certification as a group fitness instructor in 2023. My specialties include circuit training and Pilates. My approach blends science‑backed exercise design with motivation and adaptability. I believe in meeting clients where they are, whether they’re new to fitness or seasoned athletes, and creating workouts that are effective and enjoyable. When I’m not at MCC, you’ll find me with family, in the garden, cooking, reading, listening to music or enjoying outdoor activities. My philosophy is that fitness is more than just exercise, it’s a lifestyle, a mindset, and a way to become the best version of oneself. I’d love to help you reach your goals, whether you’re just starting out or ready to push to the next level. Let’s move together. Sheri Christensen Hello!
